Crystal Arlene Kuykendall, the author, holds a doctorate in educational administration as well as a law degree. She is a member of several professional organizations, including hte D.C. Bar Association. A former school teacher, guidance, university instructor, and presidential advisor, she has also held many administrative positions in national organizations which have facilitated school improvement. Dr. Kuykendall has received recognition for the staff development and training she has provided to school superintendents, school board members, principals, teachers, parents, and students in over 40 states, parts of Europe, Australia and Africa. Author of many articles and one book, Dr. Kuykendall has two daughters and one son, and resides in Washington, D.C. She is president and general counsel of her own firm, K.I.R.K. Inc. (Kreative and Innovative Resources for Kids).
